Orfilia
What does this name means? I am guessing "gold lover" but, what does it really means?

It seems very close to OFELIA.

Aside from that I think it's beautiful, it struck me as some feminine form of Orpheus. That's unlikely, though. "Gold lover" seems like a good guess, but with my amateur Latin knowledge it could also be something like "daughter of gold" or "golden daughter" maybe? Sorry, I don't have much to add.

Where did you find it?

It as my paternal grandmother's second name (first is Laura), her father was from Portofino and her mother from Milan but she was raised in Lima and I think she was born here too. She was among the youngest of several siblings.

Never heard of this name, but since her heritage is Italian, I wonder if the -filia suffix could mean "daughter"?Rather than the -philia "lover of" that you speculated?

I always assume that Italy and Greece has such intetwined history together that Greek can be influenced by Latin (and etruscan) and that Latin can be influenced by Greek (and pre-hellenic Greek languages). It happens with their mythology why wouldn't it happen with their etymology?
