Re: Hippy Name meanings, anyone? "Mook"? "Tempany"? etc...
Do you know of the actor Joaquin Phoenix ? Well, his alias name is Leaf Phoenix . He was the only child out of his family (River , Rainbow, Summer , Liberty (?) , etc.) without a "hippy name." His parents were hippies with "normal names."I got this information from a biography about River Phoenix .(Did what I just type make any sense?)

Thanks, V! That explains now why the name "Joaquin " appears on the Hippy Names lists. I couldn't figure out the "hippy connection" to that name at all, before. :)-- Nanaea

Another way of interpreting Joaquin as a hippie name: it sounds like "jokin'" :)

Sounds plausible to me! The Joker in a deck of cards is the "hippie card", too. ;)-- Nanaea

I have done some research, and for those who didn't know, because I didn't -- you'd think I'd pay closer attention to those movie advertisements -- Joaquin is pronounced "WAA-keen." From the looks of the name (and the way I pronounced it) I thought it was French or something.
