Name meaning/origin help
Just came across the name Daviana (pronounced DAH-VEE-ANA). She has Italian heritage so I don't know if the name is Italian in origin or just a sort of made up name using the currently very popular suffix -iana.Any help would be appreciated*~Loads of Randomness~*

I'd assume it's meant to be a feminisation of David or Dave. It doesn't appear to be a legitimate Italian name.

Yeah didn't think so, I just knew her parents were Italian so threw that fact in just in case. Thank you!

Google searches for "Daviana" together with either "nome" or "significato" did not give me hits on Italian pages in significant numbers. With Daviana being a frequently used Italian name this would not happen.A rather good Italian name site, http://www.nomix.it/, does not list the name.Based on this I say that Daviana probably is not used in significant numbers in Italy today. Of course it could still "hide" as a rare but genuine Italian name.

Thanks for the research! Never thought of checking Italian webpages!Honestly I didn't think that it was an Italian name, the fact that one parent was Italian was a bit of a loose fact to base the name on.
