Mylene
I just remembered this name from French 101 last spring (it's a female name that was used in one of our workbooks). I started a topic about it in the Opinions lounge as well and got this response from Mrs. Claire:"Mylène (mee-len) is indeed a French name. It could be a contraction of Marie-Hélène (see Marie & Helene)."This is her best guess and about as much as I know.I did an internet search as well and found this:
http://www.zelo.com/firstnames/findresults.asp?name=MYLENE , where it says that Mylene is Greek and means "dark one"... I have doubts about this though. Any other info anybody can offer would be well appreciated. I think I may even go to the "add names" page and suggest it if I can get enough info. It's very pretty, I think.
