origin?
Sada is not listed anywhere that I can find. There is an American Olympian in the sport of saber (sword) that I recently watched with the name Sada. The closest name I have seen is Seda (Sedalyn). Does anyone have any further information about this name or is it just one of those "made up" names?

Hi.Its probably another of those made up names. Its not in the database, and there's nothing that it could be a creative form of

Thanks for the prompt reply. I guess if we name our child Sada it will then have an origin.

Hi, Sada!I found something:
"Arabian: 'happiness'" (Seibicke, HDV)
"SA'D: from 'sa'd' good luck, fortune, from 'sa'ida' to be lucky or happy" (Hanks/Hodges, Oxford Dictionary of First Names, 1990)Hope this helpsAndy ;—)

Is this swordfighting Sada a male or a female? (Sabre used to be men-only, but now it's both, in these Olympics.) If it's male, I've got no idea. But if it's female, then my guess would be that Sarah has two nickname forms: Sally and Sadie. And I can readily imagine parents, possibly fond of Sarah but thinking it too popular, playing round with the nicknames and getting Sada.

Found twoI have a book that lists Sada as either a Japanese name meaning "chaste," or as an English form of Sadie. It lists Sadá and Sadako as alternative forms.

Hello!*Adores Sada already just because of the likeness*My name(Sedalyn) is a creation of my mother, but Seda is not. Seda is Armenian and it means "Forest Voices" or "Whispering Forest Voices". Recently, though I stumbled across the name Sada on a site and was informed(assuming the site is correct here as it was on my name. :) ) that the name means "Pure One".Here is the link:
