Re: Top 225 Girls' Names on my 2022 spellings combined list, USA
I really appreciate these lists! It would be cool to someday have more name pronunciation data. There are some names that might have multiple pronunciations with the same spelling. Seeing Leah made me think of this, as I know American Jewish Leahs who pronounce the name closer to the Hebrew way and for me would be grouped with Leia, even though with this name I'm sure it wouldn't make a big ranking difference at all.

Yes, I think of Leah as "Lee-uh" because I had a first cousin whose name was pronounced that way, and that it is the way it is normally pronounced in Protestant churches in the USA when the Biblical character is being mentioned. Actually, if you added Leia in with Leah it would rise 20 places in the ranks for 2022.

I was thinking about the ranking thing as if you separated out the Hebrew pronunciation Lay-uhs from the Lee-uhs. My guess is that it is few enough that the impact would be small. But maybe not! That's why it would be cool to have pronunciation data. I can't imagine that would happen, since it isn't something we typically document, but my curiosity remains.
