Anne and Cody--Anne, now out of high school; Cody, now a senior--received a surprise when about a year ago, Anne went into labor. Anne wanted to give Annabel-Lee up for adoption, but Cody convinced her not to. But now Anne is wondering if that was the right choice...
At one year old, Annabel-Lee is getting into just about everything. But that's not all. She also seems to have acquired some magical skills from somewhere. After further looking into it, they realize that deep in Cody's family there is the blood of magicians. Anne is now quite angry with Cody, and their relationship is struggling.
