Fast forward eight years:
Don and Jake are as happy as ever, watching their children grow up. Don has expanded his café chain and has opened cafés all over New York and is planning to open up Boston and Philadelphia too. Jake has retired from performing his music, but writes songs to other singers and bands and gives guitar lessons both privately and at a nearby high school.
Evan is at university. He got a football scholarship and studies Economics and Business. Just like his parents predicted, he turned out a real sportsman, playing football, soccer, basket ball and rugby all through high school, but he still wants to get a solid education.
Rafael is still very competitive: nowadays he focuses on competing in school - he always wants to score the highest on tests and get the best grades. He also runs in his free time, and on the running track, he is just as competitive. Unfortunately, his competitiveness hinders him from making friends: he just wants to beat them at everything.
Hemi is following in Evan's footsteps: he is very sporty and loves all sports, from salsa to swimming to soccer. When he wants to dance salsa, he finds his dance partner in Nella, his sister. She is really into dance as well. Nella misses Sadie a lot since she moved out. Now Nella is the only girl in the house. On the other hand, her brothers are really making her tough: no one dares to pick a fight with Nella Holmwood!
Ash is the shy one in the bunch. When he found out he, Nella and Hemi were named after stars, he became very interested in astrology. Most often he is found either reading about it or staring at the sky. He is quite dreamy.
Zain is everyone's darling, since he is the youngest. Just like Ash, he is quite dreamy and love to hear stories. But he's very different from Ash in the sense that he is very outspoken and loud - just as much as he enjoys listening to stories, he likes to come up with and tell his own stories.
But Sadie is the one with the biggest news: since she dropped out from high school to pursue her music (much to Don's dismay) she has been travelling all around the States performing her music at different venues. Constantly out of money, she has had her parents very worried, but Jake still says positive: he too ran away from home at that age with only a backpack and a guitar, and he still found a good life for himself. Now Sadie has found a producer who believes in her and she says she is close to her big break. Her producer believes so much in her that he proposed to her and they are going to get married next week. Jake is happy that his daughter is happy, but Don, on the other hand, is worried, partly that she is mixing her personal life with her professional life, and partly that she is engaged to a man she has known for only such a short time...
