Cass and Kiara met through mutual friends - Cass's best friend Danny was dating Kiara's little sister Elly - at the time they first met Cass and Danny were 16 years old, Kiara had just turned 18, and Elly was 14. To start with Cass and Kiara were just friends, Cass was busy training to go into the Royal Marines, and Kiara was off to University to become a teacher. But when they did find time to meet up, there was undeniable chemistry between them, that even Danny and Elly could see. Eventually after almost a year of "just friends", they decided to take the plunge and begin to date. Their relationship moved fast and pretty soon they figured they were in love. Cass proposed on the evening of Kiara's graduation, and they decided to marry in the next summer, shortly after Cass's 20th and Kiara's 22nd birthday.
