Tony and Savannah met during a missionary conference at a church where both of their parents were visiting missionaries. They kept in touch over the next few years (since Tony's parents were in Italy and Savannah's were in New Zealand), beginning a long distance dating relationship when Tony returned to the United States to begin medical school. Tony returned to Italy last year to begin his career as a general surgeon. Savannah came to visit for a few weeks after Tony was settled. He proposed, and they were married four months later. Savannah found a part-time job working in a bakery. Her official title is "pastry chef", but she assists with many different aspects of the bakery. Before moving to Italy, she lived in the United States with her aunt, working as a nanny, barista, and home health aide.

Tony and Savva became parents this year--they adopted a sibling set from India--three year old Reva and her twin brothers Abhinav and Manas joined the family. Tony and Savva first applied to adopt six months after their wedding. They are so excited to be parents to their three new children. After some discussion, they have decided to keep the children's given first names and give them Italian middle names.

This year, Savva went to school--Italian language school, to be specific. While Tony grew up speaking the language, Savva knows only enough Italian to engage in rudimentary conversation. Once Reva, Navi, and Manas arrived, they began learning Italian from their neighbors--Savva wanted to learn too, so she enrolled in some classes. Tony has been tutoring Savva as well, and she is picking up the language more quickly than she anticipated.

Since adopting their Indian children two years ago, Tony and Savva have been learning as much as possible about the country their children came from. Tony recently took a position in Mumbai, India, moving to India for Tony's two year commitment. While Savva was definitely willing to move, she was sad to leave Dromos behind. Much of Tony's day-to-day work is in English; however, Savva and the children speak primarily Hindi. Reva is the only one who knows Hindi at all, so it has been a little challenging for day to day living. Tony and Savva know that things will get easier with time.

The kids are picking up English at an astonishing rate--and their schoolteachers are astonished at the multilingual conversations that happen between the three of them (after all, they grew up speaking first Hindi, then Italian, then Hindi again--and now English as well. Tony is working at a large hospital in Ohio, while Savva is working part-time as a home health aide and spending the rest of her time helping the kids adjust to yet another culture.

Tony and Savannah welcomed their second daughter this year--little Zoey Sabina made a shrieking entrance to the world early one winter morning. Ivy still isn't sure what to make of her, but Navi and Manas keep her occupied. Reva has enjoyed helping take care of both Ivy and Zoey and has declared to Savannah that she wants to become a nanny when she gets older. Tony is working long hours and doesn't much like all the paperwork involved with being the head of a department. Savannah keeps everyone going and makes sure the kids have everything they need. All three kids play soccer on the local school team, and Reva also rides horses at a local stable.

Tony is working long hours and doesn't much like all the paperwork involved with being the head of a department. Savannah keeps everyone going and makes sure the kids have everything they need. All three kids play soccer on the local school team, and Reva also rides horses at a local stable.

This year, The Jensen family adopted two small goats--one for Navi and one for Manas. Reva spends a lot of time at the barn with "her" lesson horse. Navi and Manas were begging for an animal of their own to take care of--so Tony and Savannah bought them a pair of goats for their birthday. The boys named them Agni and Leela.

This year, Savannah began taking nursing courses at the local community college. She is hoping to get a degree by the time Reva graduates from high school--that way she can work and provide some extra money for Reva's schooling. After all, they just finished paying off Tony's school debt, so any extra income would be great for them.

Tony and Savannah celebrated their fifteenth wedding anniversary this year. Since the older kids all have animals to take care of, Ivy began insisting that she, too, is old enough to care for an animal. Of course, that got Zoey involved too and she began begging for a pet. So, Tony and Savannah bought the girls a cat--a friendly American shorthair the girls named "Princess".
