Little Mr. Straight Brown Hair, Blue Eyes, Fitroy Garfield Phoebus Lewin started going by the nickname Fitz by the time he entered kindergarten. Born to a history scholar and a literature professor with a deep love of Greek mythology, he knew his name would never sound like the rest of his class, full of Devins and Emilys and Jacobs. He grew self conscious of his long, unique name. He never told anyone how many names he had or what his full name sounded like.
Until he met Enid, whose parents had just relocated them from the UK to the US. The redheaded, brown-eyed child fascinated him. Aged five, Enid Dannel only saw Fitz before school, as Fitz attended a class five years her senior. The spitfire child hopped up to Fitz the day they met, greeting him with a rambunctious, "You look lonely." Very perceptive, Enid nailed Fitz's emotional state and immediately garnered his interest and a small amount of affection.
The odd pair continued to hang out together as the years passed. Enid cheered for Fitz when he graduated high school. He returned from college to attend hers. But as they grew older, they began to drift apart. Fitz got married. His wife refused to let him see his old friend, even though they had never shown interest in each other as anything other than friends. As much as she hated to see him in this awful relationship, Enid let it slide, hoping his situation brought him the happiness he deserved.
A few years into their marriage, Fitz found out that his wife had secrets. Without telling him, she took birth control pills. She didn't want to have kids ever, whereas Fitz dreamed of having a family. Though she wouldn't allow him to see his female friends, she spent most of her free time with her male friends. After five years of this, Fitz asked for a divorce, only to find out that she had a secret boyfriend. He moved out as fast as humanly possible.
One day after he found a new apartment that he could afford, he ran into his old pal Enid, who happened to live in the apartment right above him. They hit it off, picking things back up where they left off. Enid spilled her guts to him. She had also gotten married, to a lovely man with lots of heart and lots of spirit, just like herself. They had just gotten pregnant and had gone out for a celebratory dinner when a drunk driver rammed into their car head on. Her husband died. The impact injured Enid critically, causing a miscarriage and many high hospital bills.
"Sounds like we've both had a rough go of it," Fitz cackled.
Enid cracked a smile. "Yeah, you could say that."
As the two continued to pursue their respective careers, Fitz at a local youth homeless shelter and Enid as a comedienne painter slash actress slash singer-songwriter, their relationship rekindled and soon became more than it had been before.
Their romance started as... not very romantic. Both lonely and grieving, they went out for an evening of drinks and found themselves in bed together the next morning. Neither spoke of it after that. Until it happened again. And again. And again. It happened so many times that they forced themselves to sit down and evaluate where they stood with each other. In the process, they discovered that each felt something more for the other.
So they began dating and it felt like the most natural thing. After only a few months, Fitz moved into Enid's apartment. A few months after that, he proposed. They didn't wait very long to get married, running into the courthouse at their first convenience. Afterwards, they held a small reception for their families.
And thus begins their married adventure.

During her run in a local production, Enid met with death once more. Set pieces had just moved in and one of the crew members positioned himself running around in the eaves to fix stubborn, oldschool lighting that had gotten stuck. In the middle of her scene, as she lay on her prop bed, he lost his grip on the light and it tumbled down from the ceiling, finding its mark on Enid.
An ambulance rushed her to the hospital and fortunately it had done no more damage than a small break in her leg. After getting her cast, she returned to rehearsal as if nothing had happened, hobbling around her every scene. Enid refused to let this stop her from one of her first paid acting jobs.
Fitz didn't find out about his wife's accident until she came home that night, helped into the apartment by one of her castmates. He took one look at the giant cast on her leg and started laughing. "Babe, what did you do this time?"
"Oddly enough," her castmate interjected, "it wasn't her this time."
As Enid explained the incident in grueling detail, embellishing what could have been two sentences into a five minute long story, Fitz saw the sparkle in her eye. He knew she loved every minute of this and because she loved it, he loved it. That spark in her eyes and in her soul had drawn him to her even when they were still in elementary school.

"It's lonely in this house when you're not here," Enid complained to Fitz one evening when he returned home late from work.
Sliding onto the couch beside her, Fitz planted a kiss on her head before responding, "Babe, you're not here more often than I am. I stay at work late one night and all of a sudden it's lonely here?"
"I don't have anything going, and it's boring and lonely, yes," Enid pressed, her fingers trailing up his thigh.
Fitz glanced from her fingers to her face, lit up with an all too familiar look. Leaning in, he teased her with a soft kiss. "You saying we should have a baby, E?" he whispered. Enid nodded as Fitz pulled her into his lap, pressing kisses to every inch of her body.
"Or--" Enid's sudden interruption of the moment confused Fitz. "We could get a fish."
"A fish?" Fitz snorted. "A fish is gonna make you less lonely?" A mischievous grin replaced Enid's longing look. Fitz sighed, closing his eyes. "Babe, did uou already go out and buy a fish?"
Enid hopped off his lap, ran into the kitchen, and returned with a small fishbowl. Handing it off to Fitz, she plopped diwn beside him, resting her head on his shoulder as she gazed lovingly at the little Betta in the bowl. "His name is Hermes."
"Herm--"
"And just because I got a fish," she whispered, prying the howl from Fitz's fingers and setting it on the end table, "doesn't mean I don't want to have a baby."

"Babe, you remember my baby sister?" Fitz asked Enid one evening after dinner.
Enid's eyes lit up. "The baby sister I remember getting to hold? The baby sister who was essentially my baby sister too? The baby sister I babysat when I was twelve? Kassie?" Fitz nodded. "How could I forget her?" Without missing a beat, Enid added, "Is everything okay? She isn't hurt or dead, right?"
"Babe, calm down, she's fine," Fitz chuckled. "She's just hit some hard times financially. I was wondering... we have a second bedroom and we haven't had kids yet. Would you be totally opposed to letting her move in for a bit?"
Enid squealed. "Oh my god, yes! I would love to have Kassie move in."
"Good, she's coming tomorrow."

After a couple years and several more "it's lonely here" jokes, Enid gave Fitz the birthday present of his life.
The morning of his fortieth, Fitz awoke to an empty bed. Figuring his wife and sister had cooked something up for his birthday, he tiptoe out to the living room to catch a glimpse of the surprise to come. Except the surprise he received didn't match the surprise he expected. He could find neither Kassie nor Enid anywhere in the house and he couldn't see a single birthday decoration. Neither answered her phone when he called. He began to worry.
No sooner did he start to dial the numbers of close friends and family in search of Enid and Kassie than he received a call from Kassie herself. "K, is Enid there? Are you okay?" he asked, trying not to let on how worried he was.
"Uh, yeah, E's here," Kassie replied, too much hesitation in her voice to calm Fitz's nerves.
"And where is 'here' to be exact?" Fitz pressed when Kassie added no more.
The line went quiet for a moment, muffled whispers and shuffling taking the place of a normal conversation. When Kassie did speak, she said, "We're, uh, we're at the hospital. And before you freak--" Boy, did Kassie know her brother well. "I think you should make your way over here ASAP." With further pressing from Fitz, Kassie refused to clarify or explain anything, insisting only that he come.
When Fitz arrived, the nurse welcomed him with a cheerful greeting and a heartfelt congratulations, a welcome Fitz didn't understand until he arrived at his wife's room... and saw a tiny little baby nearby. Fitz fell speechless.
"Congrats, babe, and happy birthday!" Enid greeted him, motioning for him to join her. Fitz reluctantly sat on the bed beside her. "I was planning to tell you that I was pregnant today but K and I were out buying some last minute decorations and I went into labor. He's pretty early, but the doc says his chances are good. Are you surprised?"
"How the hell did you keep this a secret from me long enough to actually give birth?" Fitz gawked.
"I'm pretty average, babe, and so the little bit of weight I put on hid behind my regular weight. Plus, like I said, he was way early. Had he come just a few weeks sooner, he may not have made it. He just couldn't wait to meet his daddy. You wanna name him?"
"Zeke Patrick Dannel Lewin."
Enid looked at Fitz as if he had grown an extra head, a pair of horns, and a tail. "You- you already had a name? I thought that was a girl thing."
Fitz shrugged, unable to tear his eyes away from the tiny baby boy. "I just remember you saying that you loved the name Zeke and Patrick is a family name and we discussed how we wanted our kids to have both our last names, the boys being Dannel Lewins and the girls being Lewin Dannels, so it just felt right to out it all together that way."
"Babe," Enid whispered, "that was so sexy. We're gonna have to be careful or we'll end up with another baby before Zeke is even one."

After welcoming Zeke to the family, Fitz and Enid decided to upgrade to a three bedroom apartment: one for them, one for Zekel and one for Kassie. When they told Kassie ahout their plans, Kassie sighed. "Oh, thank God, that makes it easier for me to ask: my girlfriend is in need of somewhere to stay. She can help lay rent and was hoping she could move in with us. Hand to heart, we'll behave ourselves."
"You have a girlfriend?" Enid gasped, slapping her sister-in-law playfully. "Girl, dish! Since when?"
Kassie launched into the story of how she met Alycia, a story Enid fell in love with. Kassie had run to the store to pick up something for Enid and Fitz. She got in line with her purchases, only to realize she'd forgotten her wallet. The kind young woman behind her offered to pay for her things and insisted when Kassie originally denied. Afterwards, they went out for coffee. "We're about to hit our one year mark and figured moving in together wasn't out of the question."
"Why didn't you tell me you were seeing someone? I would've stopped trying to set you up with everyone," Enid laughed.
"It's fine. Me and Al are pretty private about our relationship. Besides, it makes for great conversation when we go out," Kassie said with a chuckle. "So whaddaya say? Can she move in with us?"
Fitz and Enid shared a look and a silent conversation. Turning back to Kassie, Fitz shrugged. "Why not? It'll help us keep our own costs down."

After the surprise with Zeke, Fitz made Enid promise to tell him the minute she even suspected she might be pregnant again. Two or three pregnancy scares and a miscarriage later, Enid had to skip the biggest audition of her life due to the worst morning sickness she had ever experienced. At the time, she didn't know for sure it was morning sickness, but the minute she threw up the first time, she called Fitz and said, "We're making an appointment and we're seeing if it's a pregnancy."
They came home with the knowledge that Enid was in fact pregnant and was actually almost twelve weeks along already. "That explains why I've felt sick to my stomach for weeks," she laughed as they pulled into the complex. "I just sucked it up and dealt with it. I didn't even think it could be another pregnancy."
As the months wore on, this second pregnancy took its toll on Enid, moreso than her last. By the end of her second trimester, the doctor put her on mandated bed rest due to high risks. She ended up giving birth to their second son in their own home with Alycia, a registered nurse, taking charge.

At Enid's prompting, Fitz auditioned for a show with her. Much to his surprise, when the cast list came out, he found his name typed next to the make lead's name, with the privilege to play the romantic lead opposite his own wife. With much coaching from Enid, the couple made their stage debut as a wedded couple one of the most memorable in their area.
Still living with Fitz and Enid, Kassie and Alycia announced their engagement earlier this year. Kassie proposed to Alycia on Alycia's birthday. She bought a lizard, Alycia's favorite animal, and set up its enclosure in their bedroom. Written in invisible ink on the enclosure's walls, she wrote the words, "Marry me?" Alycia squealed and said yes.

Much to Enid's surprise, she managed to conceive and give birth to a third son. Another rough pregnancy, she almost miscarried their baby, winding up on bed rest again. During her downtime, Zeke and Lucas curled up in her bed with her and watched movie after movie. It was four year old Zeke who had to call for an ambulance when Enid went into active labor while Fitz and Kassie and Alycia were all at work. Because of his help, Enid and Fitz asked him what he wanted to name his brother.
"Mikey!" the four year old cheered.
After much discussion, Enid and Fitz settled on a name. They would call the baby Micah, Mikey for short.

Despite raising three boys, Enid's career has suddenly taken off. Just days after giving birth to Mikey, she began the long audition process for a Boradway national tour. When she received the news that they had cast her, she turned to Fitz. "What do we do now?"
"Well, you can bet you won't be leaving me and the boys," he responded. "You're gonna have to take us too. We'll be cheering you on every night."
"But your job, babe," Enid protested.
"What about it?"
"You'll have to quit."
Fitz scoffed. "So what? I'd rather quit my job than stay here while you tour without me. We're a family, babe. Where you go, I go. And obviously where we go, the boys go. Deal with it."
When Fitz and Enid broke the news of their departure to Kassie and Alycia, the two women sighed in relief. "Oh, thank god," Alycia said, "we won't have to move out just yet."
Prompted by Fitz's confusion, Kassie clarified, "We're, um, we're pregnant. We chose to do IVF and we just found out that it took and I'm pregnant."
"We were just worried that we'd have to find somewhere else to live because two families in a three bedroom apartment is too much. This'll give us a little bit of time to find somewhere affordable."
A few months into Enid's tour, Kassie gave birth to Xanthia Hannah Harford-Lewin.

As Enid's tour continues, adding more locations, one of the lead actresses dropped the show. After much discussion between the heads of the show, Enid received the notification that they wanted her to step into the role fulltime. She knew the show backwards and forwards and they felt that she was the right choice tomreplace the actress departing. Of course, Enid said yes.
Still living in her brother's old apartment, waiting for them to get back, Kassie one day noticed Xanthia's raptured expression as she watched a friend's fish swim back and forth across its tank. For her first birthday, Kassie and Alycia bought their daughter a fish of her own. Xanthia, unable to say "fish" correctly, started calling it "Fifi." Kassie didn't have the heart to tell the girl that Fifi is a girl's name and her fish is a boy.

When Fifi passed away, Alycia and Kassie secretly replaced him with a nearly identical fish. Xanthia hasn't been able to tell the difference and the name Fifi stuck. Except Alycia and Kassie know that this one is actually Fifi 2.0.
As her tour came to an end, Enid received an important phone call: an off-Broadway show wanted her to join their cast. Though her last role was a supporting character, this one would put her front and center as the female lead of the show. After talking it over with Fitz and her agent, Enid signed the contract. The family chose to uproot their entire lives once again and moved to NYC, giving Alycia and Kassie and their growing family full run of their old apartment.

Halfway through the run of her show, Enid's stage daughter lost her mother, the only family the poor girl had left. Having formed a bond with the girl, Enid ended up taking her in as a foster child. Alethea became a favorite with all three of the boys. Mikey especially took to her. A sensitive child, he could sense when she needed comforting and was there whenever she did.
Back in the old hometown, Alycia found herself in an accident one evening driving home from work. After a long day at the hospital, she found herself nodding off as she drove. Before she returned home, however, she ran her own car off the road, crashing into a tree. She didn't hurt herself too badly, only enough to earn her an overnight stay at the hospital and release the next morning.

Just days after officially adopting Alethea and creating perhaps the longest name in current history, Enid discovered that, by some miracle, she was expecting again. Much to her great surprise, she was finally having a daughter. And, in true Enid style, she went all out. She threw a major baby shower, inviting all her castmates and the famous people she's met on her journey to now. Her pregnancy announcements were the talk of the nation. And when she did give birth, everyone waited with bated breath for the name announcement.
Alycia and Kassie's relationship saw less excitement and joy this past year and more heartbreak and tension. As Xanthia grew older and bigger, Alycia started getting more distant from Kassie. They started seeing each other only a couple times a week. Imagine Kassie's surprise when she received a midnight phone call from the police saying that Alycia had been arrested. Imagine her heartbreak when they told her it was because someone caught Alycia having sex in public with some strange woman. Kassie refused to go to the station, and instead requested a divorce from Alycia.

After hearing the news about Alycia and Kassie, Fitz and Enid invited Kassie to move in with them again. All too happy for this reunion, Kassie packed her and her daughter up and moved out to New York to live with her brother and sister-in-law. She got to meet her two new nieces for the first time and found herself working in pharmaceuticals to help with her part of the rent. She changed her name and Xanthia's to distance them both from Alycia.

This time, Fitz brought home a couple strays. Oliver and Josiah Fogharty showed up one day at the shelter Fitz started working at. The two boys looked so dejected and much too young to live on the streets. Fitz couldn't help but bring them home, once he knew he could trust them. The minute they got things sorted out legally, Oliver and Josiah joined the family.
Ever since divorcing Alycia, Kassie has hit the high point in her life. She got a promotion, which allowed her to move out of her brother's house again. Because she moved into her own place, she met a man named Willy Stacy. Because she met Willy Stacy, she found herself believing in love again. Because she believes in love again, she has a new boyfriend and her daughter has some new friends (and handy babysitters for date nights). As much as losing Alycia hurt, Kassie couldn't be happier to be where she is now.

Oliver brought home his girlfriend, Meaghan, one day. She spent the night... and then another night... and another. Fitz confronted the boy about and Oliver said, "Her parents found out that she's questioning if she's actually a girl and they didn't want her to come home. They legit packed her room up for her." Fitz immediately offered MK a place to stay.
Kassie and Xanthia have moved in with Willy and his children. To celebrate, the Stacy-Lewin household bought a hamster. After a discussion taking place in the time it took for them to drive from the pet store to their house, they selected a name they could all agree on: Hamilton.

This past year, the Dannel Lewin household was rocked when Oliver and now ex MK came to Fitz and Enid about expecting a baby and so did Alethea just months later.
In the middle of college and figuring out who she was, MK didn't want to have a baby but Oliver didn't want to abort, even though he didn't think he could care for the baby either. After some discussion, Fitz and Enid offered to adopt the baby. The minute their son was born, MK broke up with Oliver, feeling like any ties she may have had with the family before had left when she gave birth.
Single and chasing her career as an actress, Alethea couldn't stand the idea that she would have to abort the child she conceived after a one night stand. Fitz and Enid offered to adopt her child too. Myra was born a few weeks after Henry.
Kassie has stopped selling pharmaceuticals independently and instead has started working at the pharmacy. She and Willy are still going strong in their relationship, thoughneither wants to add any more children to their family.

What with the not-twins still being so little and Enid off being the star that she is, Fitz has chosen to quit his job working at the shelter. He feels like he needs to be at home with Myra and Henry and the other kids whenever they come home from school. Honestly, he likes that he can do that in order to allow his wife to do what she loves.
Hamilton Stacy-Lewin died. The family gathered outside to give the beloved pet the funeral it deserved. And then almost immediately went out and bought another hamster, having loved Hamilton as a pet so much. They named his successor Eliza.
Oliver didn't waste time finding himself a new girlfriend. Lysette Conner quickly became his fiancée, the young couple getting pregnant soon after they started dating. They named their son Marshall Conner, using Lysette's last name for his middle name.
Alethea started to worry about her career. Since the show she did with Enid ended its run, she hadn't gotten anything. She went to audition after audition, running into many guys she had one night stands with to relieve some of her stress and anxiety. One of those guys, Graeme Westbrook, became her boyfriend. She has to watch in envy as he gets booked time and again while she waits tomreceive that call.
Josiah came out to the family as gay this past year. Shortly after, he introduced them to his boyfriend, Dustin St. John.

With Zeke now fifteen, he started begging to get a dog. He even started doing chores for other people in order to save up. When he had enough, Fitz took him to the shelter and Zeke picked out a German shepherd mix. The boy and the dog bonded immediately.
Willy and Kassie have taken in the neighbor kid. After coming out as trans, Hayley Shepard's parents kicked her out of the house, refusing to call her anything but Tommy. Knowing a little of the struggle, Kassie insisted they help the struggling teenager out. Willy didn't argue.
Immediately after graduating high school, Belle Stacy moved in with the boyfriend she'd had since her freshman year of high school. Soon after moving in with Raphael, the couple found out they were expecting. Despite her parents' urging, Belle chose to give birth.
Taking after his adoptive mother, Oliver chose to enter the entertainment industry. Whereas Enid works as an actress, Oliver chose music. He spends his days working at a restaurant, his afternoons playing with his son, and his evenings writing music and playing shows all around town.
After dumping Graeme when he stopped helping her find auditions and instead started encouraging her to do something else, Alethea bought a cat. Grizabella has been one of her strongest supporters as she continues to fight for her career.

Fitz and Enid have adopted four more children--an older sister, her twin sisters, and her baby brother. Another family Enid worked closely with, she couldn't say no to them when Georgia, one of the twins, begged her to take care of them.
Nate Stacy was arrested for shoplifting. It started with little things, a stick of gum or a candy bar. He had the money to buy them, but he found it thrilling to steal instead. He soon graduated to larger items, a bottle of soda or a piece of fruit. Finally, the store owner caught him in the act. Nate didn't even try to deny his actions. He knew he was done for.
Jacqueline Bristow started getting terrible stomachaches whenever her parents fed her certain foods. Taking her into the pediatrician, Belle and Raphael found out their precious baby girl had Celiac disease. They immediately started taking whatever precautions necessary to keep their baby safe.
Oliver graduated from playing in coffee shops around town to an actual record deal. He was able to quit his waitering and focus solely on his music. Even though she sees him even less now, Lysette knows that Oliver is happier doing this.
Alethea had a boyfriend for a period, one who seemed more supportive than Graeme. After only dating for a couple months, Alethea found herself pregnant. Her boyfriend immediately dumped her when she refused to abort, leaving the young woman a single mother to twin boys. Sure, her career may have taken a bit of a backseat, but she would rather have her family safe than her faltering career.
Shortly after Josiah and Dustin got married, Dustin was diagnosed with type one diabetes. He insisted that Josiah didn't have to stay. They were young. They had only been married a few months. He knew this disease would take a lot of work. But Josiah refused, laughing in the face of the suggestion. "Why would I leave you because you're diabetic? Stupidest reason to divorce you I've ever heard."

Little Mr. Straight Brown Hair, Blue Eyes, Fitroy Garfield Phoebus Lewin started going by the nickname Fitz by the time he entered kindergarten. Born to a history scholar and a literature professor with a deep love of Greek mythology, he knew his name would never sound like the rest of his class, full of Devins and Emilys and Jacobs. He grew self conscious of his long, unique name. He never told anyone how many names he had or what his full name sounded like.
Until he met Enid, whose parents had just relocated them from the UK to the US. The redheaded, brown-eyed child fascinated him. Aged five, Enid Dannel only saw Fitz before school, as Fitz attended a class five years her senior. The spitfire child hopped up to Fitz the day they met, greeting him with a rambunctious, "You look lonely." Very perceptive, Enid nailed Fitz's emotional state and immediately garnered his interest and a small amount of affection.
The odd pair continued to hang out together as the years passed. Enid cheered for Fitz when he graduated high school. He returned from college to attend hers. But as they grew older, they began to drift apart. Fitz got married. His wife refused to let him see his old friend, even though they had never shown interest in each other as anything other than friends. As much as she hated to see him in this awful relationship, Enid let it slide, hoping his situation brought him the happiness he deserved.
A few years into their marriage, Fitz found out that his wife had secrets. Without telling him, she took birth control pills. She didn't want to have kids ever, whereas Fitz dreamed of having a family. Though she wouldn't allow him to see his female friends, she spent most of her free time with her male friends. After five years of this, Fitz asked for a divorce, only to find out that she had a secret boyfriend. He moved out as fast as humanly possible.
One day after he found a new apartment that he could afford, he ran into his old pal Enid, who happened to live in the apartment right above him. They hit it off, picking things back up where they left off. Enid spilled her guts to him. She had also gotten married, to a lovely man with lots of heart and lots of spirit, just like herself. They had just gotten pregnant and had gone out for a celebratory dinner when a drunk driver rammed into their car head on. Her husband died. The impact injured Enid critically, causing a miscarriage and many high hospital bills.
"Sounds like we've both had a rough go of it," Fitz cackled.
Enid cracked a smile. "Yeah, you could say that."
As the two continued to pursue their respective careers, Fitz at a local youth homeless shelter and Enid as a comedienne painter slash actress slash singer-songwriter, their relationship rekindled and soon became more than it had been before.
Their romance started as... not very romantic. Both lonely and grieving, they went out for an evening of drinks and found themselves in bed together the next morning. Neither spoke of it after that. Until it happened again. And again. And again. It happened so many times that they forced themselves to sit down and evaluate where they stood with each other. In the process, they discovered that each felt something more for the other.
So they began dating and it felt like the most natural thing. After only a few months, Fitz moved into Enid's apartment. A few months after that, he proposed. They didn't wait very long to get married, running into the courthouse at their first convenience. Afterwards, they held a small reception for their families.
And thus begins their married adventure.

During her run in a local production, Enid met with death once more. Set pieces had just moved in and one of the crew members positioned himself running around in the eaves to fix stubborn, oldschool lighting that had gotten stuck. In the middle of her scene, as she lay on her prop bed, he lost his grip on the light and it tumbled down from the ceiling, finding its mark on Enid.
An ambulance rushed her to the hospital and fortunately it had done no more damage than a small break in her leg. After getting her cast, she returned to rehearsal as if nothing had happened, hobbling around her every scene. Enid refused to let this stop her from one of her first paid acting jobs.
Fitz didn't find out about his wife's accident until she came home that night, helped into the apartment by one of her castmates. He took one look at the giant cast on her leg and started laughing. "Babe, what did you do this time?"
"Oddly enough," her castmate interjected, "it wasn't her this time."
As Enid explained the incident in grueling detail, embellishing what could have been two sentences into a five minute long story, Fitz saw the sparkle in her eye. He knew she loved every minute of this and because she loved it, he loved it. That spark in her eyes and in her soul had drawn him to her even when they were still in elementary school.

"It's lonely in this house when you're not here," Enid complained to Fitz one evening when he returned home late from work.
Sliding onto the couch beside her, Fitz planted a kiss on her head before responding, "Babe, you're not here more often than I am. I stay at work late one night and all of a sudden it's lonely here?"
"I don't have anything going, and it's boring and lonely, yes," Enid pressed, her fingers trailing up his thigh.
Fitz glanced from her fingers to her face, lit up with an all too familiar look. Leaning in, he teased her with a soft kiss. "You saying we should have a baby, E?" he whispered. Enid nodded as Fitz pulled her into his lap, pressing kisses to every inch of her body.
"Or--" Enid's sudden interruption of the moment confused Fitz. "We could get a fish."
"A fish?" Fitz snorted. "A fish is gonna make you less lonely?" A mischievous grin replaced Enid's longing look. Fitz sighed, closing his eyes. "Babe, did uou already go out and buy a fish?"
Enid hopped off his lap, ran into the kitchen, and returned with a small fishbowl. Handing it off to Fitz, she plopped diwn beside him, resting her head on his shoulder as she gazed lovingly at the little Betta in the bowl. "His name is Hermes."
"Herm--"
"And just because I got a fish," she whispered, prying the howl from Fitz's fingers and setting it on the end table, "doesn't mean I don't want to have a baby."

"How could I forget her?" Without missing a beat, Enid added, "Is everything okay? She isn't hurt or dead, right?"
"Babe, calm down, she's fine," Fitz chuckled. "She's just hit some hard times financially. I was wondering... we have a second bedroom and we haven't had kids yet. Would you be totally opposed to letting her move in for a bit?"
Enid squealed. "Oh my god, yes! I would love to have Kassie move in."
"Good, she's coming tomorrow."

After a couple years and several more "it's lonely here" jokes, Enid gave Fitz the birthday present of his life.
The morning of his fortieth, Fitz awoke to an empty bed. Figuring his wife and sister had cooked something up for his birthday, he tiptoe out to the living room to catch a glimpse of the surprise to come. Except the surprise he received didn't match the surprise he expected. He could find neither Kassie nor Enid anywhere in the house and he couldn't see a single birthday decoration. Neither answered her phone when he called. He began to worry.
No sooner did he start to dial the numbers of close friends and family in search of Enid and Kassie than he received a call from Kassie herself. "K, is Enid there? Are you okay?" he asked, trying not to let on how worried he was.
"Uh, yeah, E's here," Kassie replied, too much hesitation in her voice to calm Fitz's nerves.
"And where is 'here' to be exact?" Fitz pressed when Kassie added no more.
The line went quiet for a moment, muffled whispers and shuffling taking the place of a normal conversation. When Kassie did speak, she said, "We're, uh, we're at the hospital. And before you freak--" Boy, did Kassie know her brother well. "I think you should make your way over here ASAP." With further pressing from Fitz, Kassie refused to clarify or explain anything, insisting only that he come.
When Fitz arrived, the nurse welcomed him with a cheerful greeting and a heartfelt congratulations, a welcome Fitz didn't understand until he arrived at his wife's room... and saw a tiny little baby nearby. Fitz fell speechless.
"Congrats, babe, and happy birthday!" Enid greeted him, motioning for him to join her. Fitz reluctantly sat on the bed beside her. "I was planning to tell you that I was pregnant today but K and I were out buying some last minute decorations and I went into labor. He's pretty early, but the doc says his chances are good. Are you surprised?"
"How the hell did you keep this a secret from me long enough to actually give birth?" Fitz gawked.
"I'm pretty average, babe, and so the little bit of weight I put on hid behind my regular weight. Plus, like I said, he was way early. Had he come just a few weeks sooner, he may not have made it. He just couldn't wait to meet his daddy. You wanna name him?"
"Zeke Patrick Dannel Lewin."
Enid looked at Fitz as if he had grown an extra head, a pair of horns, and a tail. "You- you already had a name? I thought that was a girl thing."
Fitz shrugged, unable to tear his eyes away from the tiny baby boy. "I just remember you saying that you loved the name Zeke and Patrick is a family name and we discussed how we wanted our kids to have both our last names, the boys being Dannel Lewins and the girls being Lewin Dannels, so it just felt right to out it all together that way."
"Babe," Enid whispered, "that was so sexy. We're gonna have to be careful or we'll end up with another baby before Zeke is even one."

After welcoming Zeke to the family, Fitz and Enid decided to upgrade to a three bedroom apartment: one for them, one for Zekel and one for Kassie. When they told Kassie ahout their plans, Kassie sighed. "Oh, thank God, that makes it easier for me to ask: my girlfriend is in need of somewhere to stay. She can help lay rent and was hoping she could move in with us. Hand to heart, we'll behave ourselves."
"You have a girlfriend?" Enid gasped, slapping her sister-in-law playfully. "Girl, dish! Since when?"
Kassie launched into the story of how she met Alycia, a story Enid fell in love with. Kassie had run to the store to pick up something for Enid and Fitz. She got in line with her purchases, only to realize she'd forgotten her wallet. The kind young woman behind her offered to pay for her things and insisted when Kassie originally denied. Afterwards, they went out for coffee. "We're about to hit our one year mark and figured moving in together wasn't out of the question."
"Why didn't you tell me you were seeing someone? I would've stopped trying to set you up with everyone," Enid laughed.
"It's fine. Me and Al are pretty private about our relationship. Besides, it makes for great conversation when we go out," Kassie said with a chuckle. "So whaddaya say? Can she move in with us?"
Fitz and Enid shared a look and a silent conversation. Turning back to Kassie, Fitz shrugged. "Why not? It'll help us keep our own costs down."

After the surprise with Zeke, Fitz made Enid promise to tell him the minute she even suspected she might be pregnant again. Two or three pregnancy scares and a miscarriage later, Enid had to skip the biggest audition of her life due to the worst morning sickness she had ever experienced. At the time, she didn't know for sure it was morning sickness, but the minute she threw up the first time, she called Fitz and said, "We're making an appointment and we're seeing if it's a pregnancy."
They came home with the knowledge that Enid was in fact pregnant and was actually almost twelve weeks along already. "That explains why I've felt sick to my stomach for weeks," she laughed as they pulled into the complex. "I just sucked it up and dealt with it. I didn't even think it could be another pregnancy."
As the months wore on, this second pregnancy took its toll on Enid, moreso than her last. By the end of her second trimester, the doctor put her on mandated bed rest due to high risks. She ended up giving birth to their second son in their own home with Alycia, a registered nurse, taking charge.

At Enid's prompting, Fitz auditioned for a show with her. Much to his surprise, when the cast list came out, he found his name typed next to the make lead's name, with the privilege to play the romantic lead opposite his own wife. With much coaching from Enid, the couple made their stage debut as a wedded couple one of the most memorable in their area.
Still living with Fitz and Enid, Kassie and Alycia announced their engagement earlier this year. Kassie proposed to Alycia on Alycia's birthday. She bought a lizard, Alycia's favorite animal, and set up its enclosure in their bedroom. Written in invisible ink on the enclosure's walls, she wrote the words, "Marry me?" Alycia squealed and said yes.

Much to Enid's surprise, she managed to conceive and give birth to a third son. Another rough pregnancy, she almost miscarried their baby, winding up on bed rest again. During her downtime, Zeke and Lucas curled up in her bed with her and watched movie after movie. It was four year old Zeke who had to call for an ambulance when Enid went into active labor while Fitz and Kassie and Alycia were all at work. Because of his help, Enid and Fitz asked him what he wanted to name his brother.
"Mikey!" the four year old cheered.
After much discussion, Enid and Fitz settled on a name. They would call the baby Micah, Mikey for short.

Despite raising three boys, Enid's career has suddenly taken off. Just days after giving birth to Mikey, she began the long audition process for a Boradway national tour. When she received the news that they had cast her, she turned to Fitz. "What do we do now?"
"Well, you can bet you won't be leaving me and the boys," he responded. "You're gonna have to take us too. We'll be cheering you on every night."
"But your job, babe," Enid protested.
"What about it?"
"You'll have to quit."
Fitz scoffed. "So what? I'd rather quit my job than stay here while you tour without me. We're a family, babe. Where you go, I go. And obviously where we go, the boys go. Deal with it."
When Fitz and Enid broke the news of their departure to Kassie and Alycia, the two women sighed in relief. "Oh, thank god," Alycia said, "we won't have to move out just yet."
Prompted by Fitz's confusion, Kassie clarified, "We're, um, we're pregnant. We chose to do IVF and we just found out that it took and I'm pregnant."
"We were just worried that we'd have to find somewhere else to live because two families in a three bedroom apartment is too much. This'll give us a little bit of time to find somewhere affordable."
A few months into Enid's tour, Kassie gave birth to Xanthia Hannah Harford-Lewin.

As Enid's tour continues, adding more locations, one of the lead actresses dropped the show. After much discussion between the heads of the show, Enid received the notification that they wanted her to step into the role fulltime. She knew the show backwards and forwards and they felt that she was the right choice tomreplace the actress departing. Of course, Enid said yes.
Still living in her brother's old apartment, waiting for them to get back, Kassie one day noticed Xanthia's raptured expression as she watched a friend's fish swim back and forth across its tank. For her first birthday, Kassie and Alycia bought their daughter a fish of her own. Xanthia, unable to say "fish" correctly, started calling it "Fifi." Kassie didn't have the heart to tell the girl that Fifi is a girl's name and her fish is a boy.

When Fifi passed away, Alycia and Kassie secretly replaced him with a nearly identical fish. Xanthia hasn't been able to tell the difference and the name Fifi stuck. Except Alycia and Kassie know that this one is actually Fifi 2.0.
As her tour came to an end, Enid received an important phone call: an off-Broadway show wanted her to join their cast. Though her last role was a supporting character, this one would put her front and center as the female lead of the show. After talking it over with Fitz and her agent, Enid signed the contract. The family chose to uproot their entire lives once again and moved to NYC, giving Alycia and Kassie and their growing family full run of their old apartment.

Halfway through the run of her show, Enid's stage daughter lost her mother, the only family the poor girl had left. Having formed a bond with the girl, Enid ended up taking her in as a foster child. Alethea became a favorite with all three of the boys. Mikey especially took to her. A sensitive child, he could sense when she needed comforting and was there whenever she did.
Back in the old hometown, Alycia found herself in an accident one evening driving home from work. After a long day at the hospital, she found herself nodding off as she drove. Before she returned home, however, she ran her own car off the road, crashing into a tree. She didn't hurt herself too badly, only enough to earn her an overnight stay at the hospital and release the next morning.

Just days after officially adopting Alethea and creating perhaps the longest name in current history, Enid discovered that, by some miracle, she was expecting again. Much to her great surprise, she was finally having a daughter. And, in true Enid style, she went all out. She threw a major baby shower, inviting all her castmates and the famous people she's met on her journey to now. Her pregnancy announcements were the talk of the nation. And when she did give birth, everyone waited with bated breath for the name announcement.
Alycia and Kassie's relationship saw less excitement and joy this past year and more heartbreak and tension. As Xanthia grew older and bigger, Alycia started getting more distant from Kassie. They started seeing each other only a couple times a week. Imagine Kassie's surprise when she received a midnight phone call from the police saying that Alycia had been arrested. Imagine her heartbreak when they told her it was because someone caught Alycia having sex in public with some strange woman. Kassie refused to go to the station, and instead requested a divorce from Alycia.

After hearing the news about Alycia and Kassie, Fitz and Enid invited Kassie to move in with them again. All too happy for this reunion, Kassie packed her and her daughter up and moved out to New York to live with her brother and sister-in-law. This time, Fitz brought home a couple strays. Oliver and Josiah Fogharty showed up one day at the shelter Fitz started working at. The two boys looked so dejected and much too young to live on the streets. Fitz couldn't help but bring them home, once he knew he could trust them. The minute they got things sorted out legally, Oliver and Josiah joined the family.
Ever since divorcing Alycia, Kassie has hit the high point in her life. She got a promotion, which allowed her to move out of her brother's house again. Because she moved into her own place, she met a man named Willy Stacy. Because she met Willy Stacy, she found herself believing in love again. Because she believes in love again, she has a new boyfriend and her daughter has some new friends (and handy babysitters for date nights). As much as losing Alycia hurt, Kassie couldn't be happier to be where she is now.

Oliver brought home his girlfriend, Meaghan, one day. She spent the night... and then another night... and another. Fitz confronted the boy about and Oliver said, "Her parents found out that she's questioning if she's actually a girl and they didn't want her to come home. They legit packed her room up for her." Fitz immediately offered MK a place to stay.
Kassie and Xanthia have moved in with Willy and his children. To celebrate, the Stacy-Lewin household bought a hamster. After a discussion taking place in the time it took for them to drive from the pet store to their house, they selected a name they could all agree on: Hamilton.

This past year, the Dannel Lewin household was rocked when Oliver and now ex MK came to Fitz and Enid about expecting a baby and so did Alethea just months later.
In the middle of college and figuring out who she was, MK didn't want to have a baby but Oliver didn't want to abort, even though he didn't think he could care for the baby either. After some discussion, Fitz and Enid offered to adopt the baby. The minute their son was born, MK broke up with Oliver, feeling like any ties she may have had with the family before had left when she gave birth.
Single and chasing her career as an actress, Alethea couldn't stand the idea that she would have to abort the child she conceived after a one night stand. Fitz and Enid offered to adopt her child too. Myra was born a few weeks after Henry.
Kassie has stopped selling pharmaceuticals independently and instead has started working at the pharmacy. She and Willy are still going strong in their relationship, thoughneither wants to add any more children to their family.

What with the not-twins still being so little and Enid off being the star that she is, Fitz has chosen to quit his job working at the shelter. He feels like he needs to be at home with Myra and Henry and the other kids whenever they come home from school. Honestly, he likes that he can do that in order to allow his wife to do what she loves.
Hamilton Stacy-Lewin died. The family gathered outside to give the beloved pet the funeral it deserved. And then almost immediately went out and bought another hamster, having loved Hamilton as a pet so much. They named his successor Eliza.
Oliver didn't waste time finding himself a new girlfriend. Lysette Conner quickly became his fiancée, the young couple getting pregnant soon after they started dating. They named their son Marshall Conner, using Lysette's last name for his middle name.
Alethea started to worry about her career. Since the show she did with Enid ended its run, she hadn't gotten anything. She went to audition after audition, running into many guys she had one night stands with to relieve some of her stress and anxiety. One of those guys, Graeme Westbrook, became her boyfriend. She has to watch in envy as he gets booked time and again while she waits tomreceive that call.
Josiah came out to the family as gay this past year. Shortly after, he introduced them to his boyfriend, Dustin St. John.

With Zeke now fifteen, he started begging to get a dog. He even started doing chores for other people in order to save up. When he had enough, Fitz took him to the shelter and Zeke picked out a German shepherd mix. The boy and the dog bonded immediately.
Willy and Kassie have taken in the neighbor kid. After coming out as trans, Hayley Shepard's parents kicked her out of the house, refusing to call her anything but Tommy. Knowing a little of the struggle, Kassie insisted they help the struggling teenager out. Willy didn't argue.
Immediately after graduating high school, Belle Stacy moved in with the boyfriend she'd had since her freshman year of high school. Soon after moving in with Raphael, the couple found out they were expecting. Despite her parents' urging, Belle chose to give birth.
Taking after his adoptive mother, Oliver chose to enter the entertainment industry. Whereas Enid works as an actress, Oliver chose music. He spends his days working at a restaurant, his afternoons playing with his son, and his evenings writing music and playing shows all around town.
After dumping Graeme when he stopped helping her find auditions and instead started encouraging her to do something else, Alethea bought a cat. Grizabella has been one of her strongest supporters as she continues to fight for her career.

Fitz and Enid have adopted four more children--an older sister, her twin sisters, and her baby brother. Another family Enid worked closely with, she couldn't say no to them when Georgia, one of the twins, begged her to take care of them.
Nate Stacy was arrested for shoplifting. It started with little things, a stick of gum or a candy bar. He had the money to buy them, but he found it thrilling to steal instead. He soon graduated to larger items, a bottle of soda or a piece of fruit. Finally, the store owner caught him in the act. Nate didn't even try to deny his actions. He knew he was done for.
Jacqueline Bristow started getting terrible stomachaches whenever her parents fed her certain foods. Taking her into the pediatrician, Belle and Raphael found out their precious baby girl had Celiac disease. They immediately started taking whatever precautions necessary to keep their baby safe.
Oliver graduated from playing in coffee shops around town to an actual record deal. He was able to quit his waitering and focus solely on his music. Even though she sees him even less now, Lysette knows that Oliver is happier doing this.
Alethea had a boyfriend for a period, one who seemed more supportive than Graeme. After only dating for a couple months, Alethea found herself pregnant. Her boyfriend immediately dumped her when she refused to abort, leaving the young woman a single mother to twin boys. Sure, her career may have taken a bit of a backseat, but she would rather have her family safe than her faltering career.
Shortly after Josiah and Dustin got married, Dustin was diagnosed with type one diabetes. He insisted that Josiah didn't have to stay. They were young. They had only been married a few months.
