AS - Stefano Giovanni (7)While taking in the seaside air in Palermo, Italy Hattie fell madly in love with the caretaker of the property she had rented. Not only was it reciprocated, but Nate fit in wonderfully with his four children, being right around the same age as the middle ones. As summer drew to a close she couldn't bear the thought of being parted from the fellow widower, and so asked him to marry her and move back to England with them. Cesare accepted quite happily, and though his children were upset to be moving away from everything they had ever known they came along anyway, despite offers of an embroidery apprenticeship for Marcella and for the rest to stay with various family members.
The shock that echoed through 'proper' society when Lady Elliston returned from abroad with a foreign husband and four adopted children still makes the new blended family chuckle on occasion.
