Madeline is timeless, I don't care how popular it gets. I do think Maddy slightly ruins it, to me it sounds like a typical "cutesy" americanised nickname for an already beautiful foreign name.

I pronounce it either mah-duh-LYNE (my favourite) or mah-duh-LAYNE. Any name ending in -lyn (cah-roh-LIN, mah-duh-LIN or coh-rah-LIN) is less "classy" imo (I would say tacky but people get offended by that word).
