My best friend's grandfather was
Amos Ross and she's always wanted to name a son this (fn and mn), but I think she's not as fond of it anymore, which is a shame. :(
I'd be a little concerned, at least where I live, with the Famous
Amos connection and teasing (see my post below
Cambria's to see what I mean). :-/ I otherwise think it's a great name, though.
