I pronounced it ev-GEN-yah upon seeing it, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong.
I like it much better than
Eugenia - never liked
Eugenia much.
Eulalia,
Euphemia,
Eudoxia are great, as is
Eugene, but
Eugenia is just - ugh. (Observe my mighty powers of wording. I can't finish a sentence without having to resort to crude not-actually-words. Not-actually-words, yes, which technically cannot be used as a noun. And I'm fragmenting, and starting setences with "and" - it's hopeless.)
Upon seeing
Evgenia, I actually thought of
Iphigenia before thinking of
Eugenia. I love
Iphigenia.
ETA: Other posters said it's pronounced ev-yen-ee-a - I like that. For nicknames maybe Eeny,
Nia, Ven,
Yen, Vine, Vee?
