I've known and met many people with the name Gaia pronounced GIE-ə. I like it but it is definitely a child of hippies or witches name. Most of the Gaia's I knew in high school were fairly edgey but in a I shop at Hot Topic kind of way. They tended to listen to metal and pop music. They were all nice girls but weren't in the nerd or the punk crowds I'd hang out with so I never knew them well.
