I adore Hermione, and would use it in a heart beat given the chance. Hermione Granger leaps to mind immediately, yes, but that isn't a bad thing imo. I can see it being used more often, though I highly doubt it will even break the top 1000 in the U.S. anytime soon. I've never met a Hermione. I say her-MY-oh-nee.
I like Hermine prn the German way, but in the U.S. it would likely be said as her-mine, which sounds too much like ermine, a type of weasel.
