I like it. It's got personality; I can't imagine a boring Laverne. And while it has quite a girly, delicate sound, the retro feel of it also conjures up a tough old broad with a heart of gold, so it's simultaneously feisty and girly. I'd automatically stick it with something like Francine or Gloria, but it would work just as well with, say, Daisy or Eleanor.
