It's dated, however, I'm all ready for this spelling to make a comeback. I'm so tired of
Renae, Renay,
Rena, etc. My middle dd had a good friend growing up whose name was Renassa (reh-NAY-suh). She was named after her mother's mn (
Rena -- pronounced the same as
Renée). It never occurred to me that that was the pronunciation. I had thought it was pronounced REE-nuh at first.
So yeah,
Renée is nice. I've only known one person with this as a fn (several with this as a mn).
