I'd think the parents were really determined to use a sacrilegious name, which seems kind of lame.
If they just liked the sound, Judah and Lucas are pretty close...I don't think Judas is different enough from those to justify saddling a kid with the negative connotations, unless the whole point is to make a religious statement. But, I like the name if I ignore that, and I even somewhat like the biblical Judas.
