Shirlene is interesting. I usually like -ene and -ine names, but not so much in this case.
Done't take my advice though... because I love Shirley / Shirlie / Shirlee as they are. To be fair, I do think that Shirlene looks more modern, and would even offer Shirline.
Robina I like a lot. I also like the simple Robin, but you could use it as a nn for Robina I think. Honoring-wise though, I like Roberta a lot and think Birdy makes a retro-chic nn for it.
