Actually I was told that the ending of Isabeau is Eau not Beau and has nothing to do with being masculine
In the fifteenth century it was a royal name
One bearer being Queen Isabeau wife to King Charles VI of France another being Isabeau of Lorraine wife to René of Anjou king of Sicily

Just to add if you go to search and put in the name Isabeau you will find past discussions on this name
A childs smile is worth more to me than Gold
