To the left of the a post, there is a circle and it might be a different color. What does that mean again?

The purple dot indicates a post that you haven't read yet (assuming you have that turned on in your settings).
Well I see “new” when there’s a post I haven’t read yet. But I noticed the dots next to them way have different colors like yellow, orange, gray… I was just curious what it meant. Thanks.
Right, those dots... they are different colours only to make it easier to distinguish the levels of indentation. Every post at the same level has the same coloured dot. The colours themselves mean nothing.
