AIDS? You mean calling your kid HIV? Ace ≈ Aids, not much different.
I like it, but being asexual, I personally wouldn't use it, but a nice name!
Love it! I think it a really nice androgynous name.
Ace is such a cool name. It's short but packs a punch. I think a really cool confident kid could rock this name. I love the nickname A.
Suuuper cute!
Does little Ace have siblings named Heart and Diamond?
Don’t forget his older brother Spade.
It reminds me of the ACE family, which is a turn-off, otherwise I like it. There was a baby named this is at my old job of a daycare.
My Dad calls random obnoxious guys “Ace”. Kinda like buddy, slick, or pal.
Like "I aced the test!"? LOL just kidding, this is a nice name.
I Aced the test!
Reminds me of cards...not a fan of this name.
This name Aces at being terrible.
"He's got his Ace in the hole..." No. It sounds like a nickname for a juvenile delinquent in my opinion.
✨C o o l✨N a m e✨ Seriously, it's cool.
Too childish and trendy.
My son is the 5th (yes, V). His initials spelled backwards are Ace. The variations of nicknames chosen by my husband's family after five generations with the same legal name have run the course and this seemed perfect for my son. He has really only been called Ace his entire life and somehow he has lived up to the name. It is a perfect gender neutral name. Sorry, I have my Ace and he is adored, a brilliant, popular, super successful and athletic teenager. The name has worked perfectly for him.
I apologize to anyone called Ace but this name is just so... juvenile! I'd say more but I don't want to offend.
I love this name — sounds like Mr. Effortlessly Cool no matter what age.
This name is hilarious!
More of a nickname aimed at humans, leave that name for the pets please.
"My name is Ace and I am also Ace (asexual) and a lot of people like my name and I AM NOT A DOG!" says my friend.
Ace is more of a dog name considering I had a relative with a Boston terrier called Ace that had brain cancer... everyone knew his name. I miss that doggo. So Ace is very special to me, but I like it on dogs.
Their first name could be Chase or Jace or even Chance and then as a nickname Ace.
Um no, only a nickname.
Ace would make a cool nickname. Sounds more like a dog's name though.
Sounds really ridiculous as a name.
Even if the name seems pretentious as hell when you look at the meaning, I love how it looks and sounds. It makes me think of a confident and generous, if a little impulsive man whenever I hear it. Then again, that may be just because I tend to associate this name with Ace Grit from Bakugan: New Vestroia, but oh well.
My name is Ace, derived from my Chinese name "Weiwei", meaning "the loftiest" or "the greatest", which is what Ace is. They're also phonetically similar.I'm a female but I still use the name, as does Ace from Doctor Who, the 7th Doctor's companion (And probably lover? But I digress!)I think this name is okay for anyone to use, male or female, young or old. It's unisex and pretty functional in any walk of life, especially so if one is a detective ;p.
I also happen to be asexual, and I feel like if I used this it would be like naming my child after my sexuality. It's a little weird, but I'm not completely opposed to it.
A diminutive of this is Acy.
I really like the name Ace! It's cool, it's different, it's got an edginess which makes it appealing plus it's got a retro vibe. Ace is great as a nickname AND it's also great when it's used as a legit forename. :-)
I had a baby boy, named him Ace, which is a different, strong, cool name, on 11.2.14, the same date you made the comment. Funny.
Being openly asexual, I kinda have a soft spot for it, hehe! :) That said, I wouldn't name my son after my sexual orientation.
This name has a good meaning and sound, but it rings to me as an old guy's nickname.
It sounds very cool, but I don't know how it will look when Ace is applying for a job. Better as a nickname for Eustace or Asa or something.
My initials are A.C.E. and I think Ace would be a cool nickname for me but as for a given name I don't care much for it.
Ace, the master of cool names.
Some names are so nice you wish you'd invented them yourself, and this for me is the ultimate example of such a name- it's beautiful.
Nice name maybe Ace James? But if you think about it, it'd be better as a nickname!
This is really listed here? Seriously? If any parent seriously gave their child the legal name of "Ace", they should immediately be arrested for being complete retards.
Ace is rather cute for a little boy, though it does seem a bit pompous. I find it hard to imagine a grown, professional man named Ace.
Good as a dog or a nickname. As a given name? No.
Really infantile. I can't imagine a grown man going by 'Ace'.
Sounds dangerously close to the word "ass," wouldn't you say?
It'd be cute on a dog, but I can't see why anyone would give this as a formal name to a human. A nickname, maybe; but putting 'Ace' on your kid's birth certificate is like putting 'Spike,' 'Fluffy,' or 'Uno,' down.
Hell, might as well go with Fifi, if Ace ever gets a sibling.
Yuck. I can't believe this cracked the top 1000! I can't imagine a human with this "name"! It also brings to mind someone with a superiority complex.
To me, it sounds like the self-imposed nickname of a rather obnoxious and arrogant frat boy who thinks he's God's gift to women and the coolest person in the world. The name sounds quite infantile, and only works on young guys. Imagine this name on a 50-year-old guy who has really let himself go. I bet you find the thought amusing.
I like this more as a nickname. I knew a kid once named Anthony and we called him Ace.
I don't like Ace as a given name but it is a great nickname. It fits my friend very well. His real name Edwin doesn't really suit.
Ace sounds like a name suited for a cowboy or rodeo rider.
This is my dog's name and in my opinion, it shouldn't be used on a real kid.
Ace is an adorable name, it reminds me of southern gentlemen for some reason.
