Meaning & History

Variant of Achaab. In Ezra 2:45, Akkub is the head of a family of Nethinim. In 1 Chronicles 3:24, Akkub is a son of Elionenai, descendant of Solomon living in the Kingdom of Judah around 420 BCE. In 1 Chronicles 9:17, Ezra 2:42, and Nehemiah 7:45, Akkub is a Levite gatekeeper at the Temple in Jerusalem after the return from the Babylonian captivity.
