Honestly, I think this can work on both a boy or a girl. It's both beautiful and handsome.
I love it on a boy. I also like the Biblical associations. I would rather use a name like Moriah for a girl.
This is my name and I love it. I am a girl but if you pronounce it the Hebrew way (A-mar-e-ah) it sounds a little more masculine, I suppose. My middle name is Hope, so together my name means "Yahweh speaks hope". It's essentially the gospel message and I get to share it every time someone asks me what my name means.
The name Amariah was given to 127 girls born in the US in 2015.
Dr. Amariah Brigham (1798-1849) was one of the founders of the American Psychiatric Association. He was the first director of the Ultica Psychiatric Centre in New York.
Given it's similarity to Mariah, I find Amariah to be utterly feminine. Pretty name.
Sounds much more beautiful on a boy.
I am surprised to see this name listed as male. I only know of a girl with this name. To me it sounds very feminine. It is a pretty name.
I knew of one girl with this name many years ago. It is a pretty name.
It is pronounced ah-mah-ryah.
