Meaning & History

Ansotica was a Liburnian goddess who was worshipped in what is now Croatia. Seeing as she was equated with the Roman goddess Venus, it has been speculated that she might have been a goddess of love. The origin and meaning of her name are unknown, as it is impossible to determine whether her name is of Celtic or Illyrian origin.
