Not cool.
Just use Anthony! It's much better sounding than Antony! Also, Antony reminds me of that Roman politician, Mark Antony.
Not overused name, I’m definitely using it, as I’ve got a rather common name, I want an uncommon but not weird name and this is perfect, it also counts as me naming a child after my dad.
Cool.
I like the names Antony and Anthony equally. They're very versatile, suiting boys and men from all English speaking countries, social classes and ages. Even after being translated to English, Antony still retains a bit of Latin charm, and it's also a Shakespearean name: of course, there's "Antony and Cleopatra", but Shakespeare has also scattered numerous Antonios throughout his plays. While Anthony and Antony sound the same, the first spelling can be problematic: I have a friend called Anthony (pronounced AN-tuh-nee), but when he visited the US, a lot of people mispronounced his name as "AN-thuh-nee".Some middle name combos I like include:
Antony Bertram
Antony Lawrence
Antony Malcolm
Antony Neville
Antony Prosper
Antony Quentin
Antony Quinlan
Antony Raymond
Antony Sinclair
Antony Sterling.
The name Antony was very unheard of to me until I met my husband. He said his father wanted him to be different because there were so many Anthonys in his family. Now I am pregnant with a boy and of course the name is unique to me. I am naming our son Antony Jarod. I'm so excited.
While Anthony is super overused, Antony just sounds pretentious! Maybe it's different in other countries, but as an American I would never name my son this.
Anthony Edgar Gartside Wright, better known by his pseudonym Antony Grey, was a leading English lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights activist. Grey was credited by Lord Arran to have "done more than any single man to bring this social problem to the notice of the public".
The name Antony was given to 125 boys born in the US in 2015.
I like this name! It's nice, simple, and pretty unique!

This is how Mexican immigrants pronounce Anthony. If you plan to name your son, "Anthony" better hope you don't live in a high Hispanic populated location. Anthony will always be said as Antony or Tony. So annoying!
Antony is also a variant transcription of the Russian name Antoniy.
Anton derives from 2 Greek components: αντι+ων. According to Greek mythology it was Hercules's son name.
Marcus Antonius (c. January 14, 83 BC–August 1, 30 BC), known in English as Mark Antony, was a Roman politician and General.
Pronounced "ahn-taw-nee".
Antony Costa, former singer in the boyband Blue, now actor in West End shows. There are loads of people who misspell his [and probably also other persons] name 'Anthony'.
A famous bearer is singer Antony Hegarty (born in England, now living in California) in "Antony and the Johnsons".
From the ancient Greek name Anthonios, king of Achaia.
