This sounds like a dog name. I know a dog named Archie, but I’ve never met a person named Archie.
One of very few names where I would use the nickname over the whole form. Archibald is simply too out there, but Archie is perfectly suitable on a child as an elder.
It's just too informal and cutesy.
I used to be okay with this name, but now I don't like it since it's become associated with the kid of those attention whores Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Don’t like this name very much. Way too youthful and slightly weird to me. I prefer the name Archer to this.
Why is “British” supposed to be an insult?
This name is not ugly at all, it’s more than ugly.
It only works for a man and I like it but not for a child.
Makes me think of an obnoxious high school jock.
Ugly British name.
This is actually my last name, so I don't know if this really counts... But I LOVE the name!
This sounds like a dog's name. AND I LOVE DOGS! It sounds nice too.
Ugly and nerdy. Sounds like an old man. Not a masculine name at all.
Since Prince Harry named his son Archie, this name is gonna explode in popularity anytime soon.
I used to think this name was so old fashioned and adorable. Now all I think of is Archie Andrews from the Netflix drama Riverdale. This name is now not usable and is far too associated with his character. I'm bothered because I really liked the name Archie. Please help me get over Archie's character usage.
Pet name.
Archie is an awesome name for a boy.
I actually like this as a full name, since Archibald isn't exactly one of the most attractive names in my opinion.
I like this more as a nickname for "Archer", not Archibald.
I love the name, but all I can think of is pirates when I hear it. It's because when I played Pokemon Sapphire when I was little, there was a villain named Archie who looked like a pirate, so that's made an impression on me.
A good strong name, that suits young and old. It seems to be gaining popularity in the UK.
All I can think of is Archie Bunker. I can pretty much hear his wife Edith's voice saying ''oh Aaarchiiieee'' when I read this name. The name sounds a bit silly anyway.
