Literally translated as "Pool of the Gods".
Aslaug Vaa (1889-1965) was a Norwegian writer and poet. She was the mother of Visual artist Anne Raknes (1914-2001) and Poet Magli Elster (1912-1993). Aslaug, or Áslaug, probably means "God's Bath" or something similar as "Laug" means pool or bath and Áss comes from the Æsir which is the group of main gods in Norse mythology.
