I think my name is very lovely! It's sweet and simple yet classy and sophisticated. I love the association with birds as well- cause I love birds hehe. And despite it being a more modern kinda name, it sounds quite vintage and more mature to me! I also like that it's very rare, so it's very unique and I've never met another Avian before, n' I'm always the only one with the name in my school. Other than that, I love my name Avian! And I couldn't imagine havin' any other name! :D.
The name Avian was known to be used as early as the 14th-16th century, but wasn't first established as a name until 1861. Has multiple meanings and origins such as French ("oiseau"- meaning "Bird" or "Bird-like"), Russian ("Авиа́н"- derived from the Greek word meaning "Not to live as a falsehood" or "Wish for a long life"), and Latin.
One of the earliest known individuals with the name Avian was Avian Bourne (1590-1654), a writer and English naturalist, who published works ranging on topics of birds to agriculture. His book "Novus Tractatus de Natura Avium" (published in 1623) was a comprehensive study of bird behavior and ecology.
