Although I would not name my son Benji, I would name him Benjamin and call him Benji as a nickname. I think it's super cute! But not so much as an adult name.

To me, at least, the nickname Benji evokes an image of a cute little freckly five-year-old covered in mud. The nice thing about the name Benjamin is that it's rather versatile. Benji when you're younger, Ben when you're older.
