I named my son Blayze in 1993. I changed the spelling a bit to modernize it. He loves his name! Blayze is athletic, tall and handsome. He played Soccer and Basketball throughout High school and some in college. I was always told his name was very memorable! He has never met another Blayze. Blaise, (Blayze) is a common name in Europe but still unusual in the US.
My name is Blaze and it is an awesome name.
I think this name is really cool. Exclusively masculine. I really like it as a middle name.
This name is very interesting, but I would rather use it as a person’s nickname.
This name is as cool as h***!
I think it's unisex but works best as a middle name. Not bad, very creative and unusual.
I love the name Blaze. It seems so unique to me and that is why I like it.
As a real name? Seriously? Big Mistake. Would very well offend firefighters, even if not all of them.
Cool as a MALE nickname.
Blaze is NOT a girl name at all. My name is Blaze and I like it very much.
Very undignified. Also, it sounds only masculine to me.
Not a real name, only a nickname referred to someone by another.
I think this name is a horrible name to name a living human. It translates in Latin to "one who stutters". And in my opinion, if I were hiring a group of people and one of them had the name Blaze, I would think to myself, "Wow, this guy's probably not going to do so well. Blaze is prolly gonna Blaze till his eyes glaze over and eat all my Doritos all damn day, every day. Not gonna call him for the job. But you know who I'm gonna if the building catches fire? Blaze that's who!" Not! DUMB name in my opinion, might as well call em Cadillac.
Better off as a nickname, because it offends the origin of the real Blaise, the one used in honor of the mathematician behind the mathematic triangle, Blaise Pascal.
Blaze is a wonderful and rare name. I would personally use this as a middle name because I like having shorter, one-syllable middle names compared to the first name. I've never met a Blaze in my life but I definitely would name my son this in the future when I have kids. Not to mention, Blaze already gives me a feeling that the person will be lively, outgoing, and fun. In my opinion this is more of a boy's name though.
No way! Blaze is a 100% boy name!
Personally, I’ve always thought of Blaze as a feminine name because of that fictional Sonic character Blaze The Cat who is female, yet there’s a children’s show on Nick Jr. About a boy truck who bears this name. Personally, I love the name on a girl more than a boy but it’s unisex so it’s okay for a boy. It’s just more feminine than masculine in my opinion.
My son's name is Blaze. I don’t think I need my head examined. His fiery personality and energy running around make the name very fitting.
My middle son's name is "Blaze", he's brilliant (made the dean's list) he's handsome, he's a kind person, well liked AND he's an electrical engineer and VERY successful! Nothing wrong with that name! Some of these comments are just negative, judgemental and ridiculous.
This isn't my name but I realllllyyy like this name! Probably cause it means really big flames.
Please just stick to the spelling of Blaise if you really wish to use this name.
Whoever thinks that this spelling, "Blaze" is better than "Blaise" should probably get their head examined.
It's a good, strong name. Its good for a girl/boy. I see it more as a boy's name. At least it won't have to be your name plus #1 or #2 after it because everyone else in the class just about has the same name. Not generic, I think it stands out more and not in a bad way, except to maybe those with generic boring common names.
I think it would be a good unisex nickname, a little odd for a name but it is quite unique.
Blaze is a horses name, on a horse it is a handsome, elegant and strong name. On a person it is just tacky.
I don't know why, but I think this is an awesome name for a girl! Yeah, it may not be very professional, but who cares? Not everyone's name has to sound businessy.
The name just reminds me of the word "blazer" for a jacket. What was wrong with Blaise, anyway?
Blaze is tacky, but Blaise is wonderful.
My name is Blaze, and I think it's a wonderful name. I get odd looks sometimes when I tell people my name, and the every so often "so... were your parents hippies or something?" but overall most people seem to like it. I'm also a girl, by the way, as Blaze is the girl's spelling, while Blaise is the boy's spelling.
Blaze is ridiculous and will not look very professional.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you Secretary of State Blaze Gustafsson." Does this name sound good to be carried by a distinguished figure? No, I think not!
This strikes me as a corny, tacky name some guy in showbusiness would use as his pseudonym, not as a serious, mature name of a grown-up.
I like this name better for a girl.
This would be cute for a dog!
Haha! This IS my dog's name! I don't think it'd work great with big dogs, but it suits my crazy pomeranian just fine.I don't care for this as a female name, though. And I always think it's weird when people stick random "y"'s into names.
I really don't like this name, my friend named her son Blayze. I don't care for it, but if someone honestly wants to name their child that then they should.
