Boadicea the Victorious is the name of a high-end perfume house based in the United Kingdom.
Pronounced bo-ah-DI-see-uh.
Even though the spelling of this name is inaccurate, and an obvious misspelling and pronunciation, I by far prefer it to Boudicca.
Reminds me of the English word "bodacious."
Boadicea Geraldine Granger (though she went by Geraldine) was the name of the Vicar in the BBC sitcom "The Vicar of Dibley".
It's pronounced bow-di-cee-a,
She was a Queen of the Iceni who rebelled against the Romans. She formed an alliance with other tribes. With the help of her followers she burned Roman Colchester, London and St Albans to the ground. In total around 80,000 Romans were killed.
But she won the battle but not the war, she was defeated somewhere in the Midlands. But her heroic efforts were not in vain as they caused turmoil in Rome as Nero nearly pulled out of England.
Pronounced Boh-ah-deh-SEE-uh.
Well, I'm not sure if this counts as a "famous bearer" but the Irish/new age singer Enya has a song called Boadicea.
She was a chieftain of the Iceni in Britain. She rebelled against Roman invaders. After she lost she committed suicide.
