I don't get why this name has so much hate, it's a nickname for Brunella which is a pretty name.
Bruna Lupoli was the chambermaid of Maria Callas. In Maria Abramovic's play '7 deaths of Maria Callas' all singers are dressed as Bruna.

When I think about this name I imagine a woman with short hair with an introvert personality. It isn't a common name here in Italy.

Don't like it much. It reminds me of "Bruxa" (broo-shuh), which means witch, in Portuguese. I know a girl who bears this name, but she's a redhead with green eyes, so it doesn't suit her much. We nickname her "Brunxa" for fun.

Too close to the masculine, Bruno, for my tastes. And just a "hild" away from Brunhilda too. Not pretty.
