Could be a nickname for Cheryl.
Yet another dumb fruit name.
To me this is a very ‘aesthetic’ name, which I love. On one hand it’s a very summery, maraschino-Cherry, Cherry soda, pink polka dot, denim jean name. On the other it has a Lana del Rey ‘Cherry’, black Cherry/chokecherry, red lipstick, bad girl aesthetic. That’s why I think it can easily be grown into, she can change the ‘vibe’ of her name depending on her personal style and taste. I think it would be sweet for a youngest born daughter, your ‘Cherry on top’ :)
I think this name is quite cute.
This could be a nickname for the name Cherubina, Cherette, Cherilyn, Cherish and Cherise.
My legal name is Cherry and my middle name is Iris and I love it! I don’t understand all these negative comments on it. I’ve nearly finished high school now and I’ve never been picked on for it. I also think it’s ridiculous some people wouldn’t take help from someone with this name. Would you seriously prefer to be left to die rather than having having a doctor Cherry perform surgery on you? Get a grip!
Silly name. Cute on a toddler, but can you imagine a teen named Cherry? This could be a nickname for Charlene or Cherlyn.
Nothing much to say. Uninteresting, immature, childish. Just boring!
I think it's fine as a legal name because it's established, duh. People are close-minded about names sometimes, but I like Cherry cause it sounds badass.
Love the fruit...and the name!
I love the fruit, and this as a nickname for Charlotte.
Maybe as a pet's name or a nickname for Charlotte, Cherie, etc. But not a legal name.
It'd be a nice nickname for Genevieve, Cheryl, or Charity, or a nice name for a pet or plush toy, but it definitely wouldn't be a good name for a kid.
No. This is a fruit, and it sounds nickname-to-your-toddler-y.
As a male named Cherry, it made me develop thick skin as a child. Later in life it would become an interesting pickup line for the ladies prior to marriage!
Cherry Elsa, Cherry Violet, Cherry Sophie and Cherry Coco are nice. Cherry is a great name and quite unusual, perfect for me. She is the main character in 'Cherry Crush' by Cathy Cassidy and now I think of that girl whenever I hear this name. She has coffee-coloured skin, black hair in bunches, and a dreamy, imaginative personality. An absolute Cherry.
I think Cherry is a pretty and bouncy name. I would definetely name my child it, if I had a chance. I have liked it more ever since I read Cathy Cassidy's 'Cherry Crush'. The name Cherry reminds me that I can have hope in life, and it also reminds me of that sweet, lovely fruit whose juice explodes on your tongue. Both those ideas bring together a strong, cheerful impression of the name. I also think that Cherry is a modern, jazzy name. It could fit any type of minor or major celebrity, especially a pop/rock-star. I can imagine a fancy, stylish lady twirling around, her bangles jiggling.Cherry is a lovely name.
Well, my first name is Cherry, it's on my birth certificate. My dad actually named me. All I get is, "Is that your real name?" But it has never hindered me from getting a job, nor an interview... it's my name, not who I am, it does not define me...
I love this name. It is the official spelling of my name on my birth certificate, but I'm used to spelling my name with 'S'. Please check out my comments under 'Sherry'.
My name is Cherry-Ann. I like my name it suits me. But it doesn't define me, I do. It is my real name, it's not easily forgotten. In Britain it's unusual, but unusual is a good thing. Teasing can happen with any name. Cherry is a derivative of Charity. Be proud, I am.
I love this name. It makes me think of my childhood and the pale pink flowers of the Cherry trees.
I can easily imagine this name on an older women or a child, because I have good friend with said name.
It is also unique and not common.
If you're going to think of slang and things inappropriately then it's as good as teasing.
Very unique, but a bit embarrassing to have as a name (IMO).
I personally love this name, I think it's very natural and beautiful. And it always reminds me of Cherry blossom. And I'm not trying to be rude, but if you wouldn't let somebody perform heart surgery or anything like that because of their name, to me that's just sad!
I'm sorry but I think Cherry is just awful. Sherry, Cheri (Sher-ee), Cheryl, or Cher is much better.
This "name" does not even deserve a comment. It is juvenile, unprofessional, unintelligent, and pompous. A Cherry Reynolds would not be performing heart surgery on me, I can give you my word.
Wow. This is a name?
Cute nickname, and only a nickname.
I find this name very pretty, but a child with this name would be teased.
I think of cherry blossoms when I hear this, and yeah it sounds cuter for a pet, but not for a girl. Geez, it sounds like a woman with a bad reputation. Very pretentious. Cherry (fruit) is my favorite flavor. :)
This name makes me think of a porn star or a stripper.
Too cutesy and immature. A woman with this name would have to struggle to be taken seriously. And then there are the cherry-popping jokes. Ouch.
Okay as a nickname, but not as a given one. (Good for parakeets, though! ;-)
It's cute, but should be kept as a nickname in my opinion. People would associate it with some other terms that aren't so nice. I wouldn't use this name.
It's cute, but it's easy to make fun of.
It's ok to use Cherry as a nickname at home, but not in public. You don't want your little girl to be teased at school.
VERY adorable name. Love it.
