I love this as a nickname for Christine. I wouldn't shorten Christine, but if I did I would to Christy.

My name is Christy, and personally, I don't like it. I wish I had a name like Galadriel. I love that name (yes, I'm a HUGE Tolkien fan!). Christy is a short, boring name. It drives me crazy when people ask for my real name not my nickname, when I tell them my name is Christy! They always assume its Christine or Christina...and that gets pretty annoying!

This is my name, short for Christina (which I DESPISE!). I think this is a great name for both this name and my name, but it is very prone to misspelling and butcherings.
