I met a woman with this name. It was short for Cliffstina (you know, Cliff + Christina). Not sure of the exact spelling.

Call me crazy, but I'm not necessarily a fan of Clifford (Big Red Dog), Clifton (sounds a bit too much like I'm naming him after a town), or even Heathcliff, though that's probably my favorite of the three. But I love Cliff as a name by itself. It's short, simple, easy to pronounce even when he's little, and when he gets older, it has a bit of an edge to it. (No pun intended.) I love it!

Reminds me of a line from the 70's sitcom "Mork and Mindy."

No offense to anyone with this name, but for some reason this name reminds me of death. :/ Even though I have that weird connection with that name, I think it is a pretty okay name.
