A very cute and short name!
While this is unrelated to the origin of the name, the word Connie seems to be an old form of cony, which means rabbit. To me, this association with bunnies/rabbits adds more sweetness to this name.
Nothing interesting. Just boring!
This name was a fine name in the 50's but not now.
It's sweet and simple. I like it.
Connie Maheswaran is a character on Steven Universe. She's a young girl that can sword fight.
Reminds me of the word "con man".
I’ve always liked this name.
People have used this name on me (a male named Constantine). As all the Connies I knew were female, I never liked it for myself. I've no problem with any other guy who does. Ask him first, though. As for me, the full name, please! It won't kill you.
Connie is a cute name. I prefer it as a full name as I don't really care for "Constance" as it just seems a bit too strong and timely. I associate it with the Steven Universe character and she is one of my favorites as she is independent and strong-willed but caring, so I think of that (:

Connie only sounds feminine to me. I guess it's because I knew a very sweet autistic girl with this name when I was a child. Such a delightful name.
Connie is a really cute name. I prefer it as a full name, I don't like the name Constance.
On Family Guy there's a recurring character named Connie D'Amico. Her personality is similar to the stereotypical mean girl. She's viewed as popular and attractive. In one episode, she briefly dates Chris and it's discovered that there's a side of her that's polite and caring. However, Connie reverts back to her mean ways once Chris dumps her.

The name Connie was given to 82 girls born in the US in 2015.
Connie is my first name and I was aware that there were some men who also have my name. A lot of people think it's short for Constance, but it's not. I was born in July of 1965 and that seems to have been a popular time for my name. I'm not shy, mousy, boring, constipated or any of those sad descriptions, lol. But I guess everyone has a preconceived idea of just about everyone and everything. Names included. I have been called Constance by an old boyfriend but that was a term of endearment.
This name is so cute. :3 An adorable sibling name would be Bonnie. ^__^
Connie Binge is one of Doug's friends on the Nickelodeon cartoon Doug. She's the heavy-set green one. (When the show moved to Disney, Connie lost weight.)
BTN lists this name as strictly female. However, it's used as a nickname for males with the name Constantine, Cornelius, and Conrad, as well. It was more common nickname for males in previous generations, but still comes up now and then presently, especially for Constantine. I know an older Connie and a younger Connie even now that are males. This should really be noted. Imagine a young boy looking up this name and seeing that it's strictly female. Complex, much? [noted -ed]
Male Bearer: Conrad "Connie" Jarrett in the movie Ordinary People.
This seems to have been used for men at times (short for Conrad, Constantine, or even Cornelius), but nowadays it is almost exclusively found on women.

Whereas Constance sounds gracious, grownup, and bold, Connie to me sounds childish, small, and unworldly. I've known some very nice girls with this name, but they've not helped any in thinking that this is a name for a weak, helpless little girl.
Connie is better as a proper name, as Constance sounds a bit cold and harsh, and would also lead to jokes about doing things constantly.
Cornelius McGillicuddy, Sr., known as Connie Mack, was an American baseball player, manager and team owner.
Connie just makes me think of constipation. It is horrid. Constance is far superior, perhaps with the alternate nickname Coco.

I will always (positively) associate this name with Connie Wong, the short Asian woman from A Chorus Line.

Very sweet name. But I prefer it as a nickname for Constance.

I have never liked this name. This is the type of name people choose for mousy, wallflower-y, nerdy, or unattractive female characters in TV shows and stories. It doesn't exactly sound like the name of a lively, fun, interesting person. Constance is better.
