Docia could be short for Eudocia.
Don't like it.
I recall in one of the "Little House on the Prairie" books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, that Laura had an aunt called, Docia. In this case Docia was short for Ladocia, and her aunt's full name was Laura Ladocia. I believe she was her father's sister. I always imagined it was pronounced Doh-sha.
Docia sounds like "dose" as in "overdose". Theodosia is incredibly beautiful, but this nickname is ugly. Theda and Thea are both much better nicknames.
Wow, I never thought about how "Docie" sounds so similar to "Dose" when I added it as a submitted name.
