Meaning uncertain. Georgian sources state that the name is of Kartvelian origin, but neglect to provide its meaning. Perhaps it is related to the Mingrelian noun დუდი (dudi) meaning "head", or to the Georgian name Dudukhana. According to a Russian source, Dudana is the Georgian form of Durdana.
