Pronunciation: ay-NO-rah (Breton), ay-no-RAH (French)Meaning: Although originally a Breton form of Honora, Enora is nowadays sometimes considered a direct derivation from Breton enor "honor". The variants Énora (Gallicized form); Henora (obsolete variant), Hénora (Gallicized form) are also found. The name was borne by a 6th-century saint, the wife of Saint Efflam. (To the previous comment: Not necessarily...) The pronunciations "eh-NAW-rah" and "EH-naw-RAH" are both admissible in Breton, as are "Eh-NAW-RAH" and "EH-NO-RAH" in French, keeping in mind that the "R" is the French/Breton/German kind in all those cases (so not the English "R" nor the Mediterranean trill "R").
