Scripts Εὐνόιος(Ancient Greek)

Meaning & History

Derived from the Greek adjective εὔνοιος (eunoios) meaning "good-minded", which is closely related to the Greek noun εὔνοια (eunoia) meaning "goodwill, favour". Both words are ultimately derived from Greek ευ (eu) meaning "good, well" combined with Greek νοῦς (nous) meaning "mind". As such, this given name is basically a variant of Eunous.

This name was borne by a 5th-century Greek sophist from Emesa (which is nowadays Homs in Syria), who was a tutor of the Cynic philosopher Sallustius of Emesa.
