Meaning & History

Variant latinization of Eurykleia, because its proper (and most common) latinized form is Euryclea.

In Greek mythology, Eurycleia was the wet nurse of Odysseus' son Telemachus. She was the first to recognize Odysseus when he returned to Ithaca after the Trojan War.
