Quenya name; the meaning is unclear, but is most likely derived from the element fin "hair". Finwë was the original High King of the Noldor Elves in the works of J. R. R. Tolkien.Finwë was married twice. Through his first wife Míriel, he was the father of Fëanor. After her death he married Indis of the Vanyar and had four children: Findis, Fingolfin, Irimë, and Finarfin. Their descendants included Galadriel, Idril, Elrond, and Arwen.Finwë renounced his kingship to his eldest son and was later slain by Morgoth.
