Gilgalad, der Gierige ("Gilgalad, the greedy") is the main antagonist in the novel 'Igraine Ohnefurcht' by Cornelia Funke.The name may by subconsciously taken from the Silmarillion by Tolkien, where an elven king named Gil-galad ("star of radiance", from Sindarin gil "star" and galad "light, radiance") occurs. In the English translation Cornelia Funke changed the name to Osmond, a German re-edition has his name changed to Osmund.
