The body of Glyndwr Michael, an impoverished Welshman, was used by British Intelligence in WW2 in Operation Mincemeat. The purpose was to deceive the German high command about Operation Husky, the Allied invasion of Sicily. Glyndwr Michael was buried under the false identity created for him and his true identity was not found until 1996.
