I like it as a middle name with a bisyllabic first name like Mary or Darcy.
Mary Golda Ross (1908 – 2008) was the first known Native American female engineer, and the first female engineer in the history of Lockheed. She was one of the 40 founding engineers of the renowned and highly secretive Skunk Works project at Lockheed Corporation. She worked at Lockheed from 1942 until her retirement in 1973, where she was best remembered for her work on aerospace design – including the Agena Rocket program – as well as numerous "design concepts for interplanetary space travel, crewed and uncrewed Earth-orbiting flights, the earliest studies of orbiting satellites for both defense and civilian purposes." In 2018, she was chosen to be depicted on the 2019 Native American $1 Coin by the U.S. Mint celebrating Native Americans in the space program.
Golda Schultz is a South African operatic soprano.
Golda Rosheuvel is a Guyanese-British actress and singer. She is known for her theatre work and a number of on-screen roles, most prominently for the portrayal of Queen Charlotte in Netflix's Bridgerton.
I believe Golda was also used in medieval England too but fell out of fashion.
There was a clinic near my town called "Golda's Clinic". It was a small clinic with 7 or so employees. The Clinic Manager's name was Golda and from what I could gather from the few times we'd meet, she was a very strict but also kind person. I don't hate Golda but I don't like Golda either. I think Golda is a 5/10 name.
Golda sounds rather harsh.
It's a no for me.
Golda is one letter from "golfa", which means slut/prostitute in Spanish. Not a reason not to use it but if you intend to learn Spanish then it would probably not be good, or to use it in a area with a high Spanish speaking population.
It's stupid and ridiculous. I would never call anything by this name. It sounds really annoying, I can't stand it.
This name is so pretty and charming! :)
In Fiddler on the Roof Tevye pronounces it "Gold-eh." It sounds rather clunky and harsh to me.
Pronounced gohl-dah.
Golda Meir (May 3, 1898 - December 8, 1978) was a prime minister of Israel.
Golda Meir was Israel's first woman prime minister and the third woman in the world to hold this office.
This was the name of the mother character in 'Fiddler on the Roof'.
Golde is a variation of this name.
