Grant has something almost regal about it even having just one syllable that doesn't happen with other one syllables names imo if we compare Grant to John, Paul, James, Mark...Grant stands out so much the only thing I fail to understand is why the name isn't more popular maybe it's because it's not a name that offers nickname options per say and people nowadays are putting too much emphasis on nicknames sometimes even choosing a name based on its nicknames.
But I don't think we all need nicknames I would rather not have one and be called by my full name so when I was choosing Grant's name I made sure to look for a name that would be so good that he wouldn't need a nickname.
Grant has also a beautiful meaning if you pay enough attention to it, it can be a wish that was Grant-ed to you (in my case, the dream to become a mother) it also means great and big/tall.
My son is definitely great and big but I don't speak only by a physical standpoint because he is too young (8 yo) but he is gigantic in my life and in everything he means to me, he is big.
The name also brings a classic feel to it without being overused I think parents out there are missing out on a great name when they decide to go for more "trendy" options.
Grant is respectable, honorable, intellectual without trying too hard it's a strong sounding name regardless of your accent and won't cause you any issues with spelling.
