Gwendoline Ruais (Tagalog pronunciation: [ru'waɪs]) is a Filipino-French actress, model, TV presenter and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss World Philippines 2011. She represented the Philippines at the Miss World 2011 pageant in London, England and placed 1st Runner-Up.
Gwen Harwood, AO, (née Gwendoline Nessie Foster; 1920 – 1995) was an Australian poet and librettist. Harwood is regarded as one of Australia's finest poets, publishing over 420 works, including 386 poems and 13 librettos. She won numerous poetry awards and prizes, and one of Australia's most significant poetry prizes, the Gwen Harwood Poetry Prize is named for her. Her work is commonly studied in schools and university courses.

I'm not too much of a fan of this name as I think it's quite pompous - especially spelt Gwendoline. Gwendolen I think is better and less 'upper class' however I don't really like it anyway.

I knew a lovely lady called Violet Gwendoline but I prefer Gwendolen because it's neater and more authentic.
I really like this spelling of Gwendolen, it's more widely used than the other spelling, and I think it sounds more feminine and delicate altogether. This name is also much more popular in Britain. :)
